It is rather refreshing to see that good taste has not gone down the toilet drain where many recent series (Banshee comes to mind) should have never emerged from. This series is a pleasure to watch.
Everything about it is simply charming, captivating. The plot, the characters, the directing and the acting, the location, the costumes, you name it. Adriana Ozores' vocalization is so good that many times the English subtitles are not needed. Concha Velasco and Lluis Homar complete the luxury triad of top veteran leading actors.
Their younger counterparts also deliver convincing and elegant acting. All in all, the series feels more British than Spanish and one can find elements from Downton Abbey, Ripper Street and even Harry Potter. I've only just watched S1E1 but look forward to the many more episodes to come.
Highly recommendable.

: The story narrates the arduous and inestimable work of a group of nurses, ladies and young people of the high society, who are sent by the Queen Victoria Eugenia to attend the Spanish soldiers that arrive, by hundreds, wounded to the collapsed hospitals of Melilla in the frame of the War with Morocco of 1921. The main protagonists are ladies of the high aristocracy who voluntarily abandon a life of luxury to fulfill “their duty” and to help others. They will have to adapt quickly to the conditions of war: their shortcomings (collapsed hospitals, poor hygiene, little instrumental and personal), the mechanisms of battle, power struggles, secrets and intrigues or and social class diferences, while proving their worth, challenged by local health personnel, saving the lives of soldiers wounded in combat.

Those of you who wanted to watch Amaia’s show “Tiempos de guerra” are in luck as I was able to get a hold of the spanish subtitle files which makes it easier and quicker to translate. The only thing is that I wasn’t able to find HD quality links to the episodes so 380 quality is the best I can provide.
But after having watched the first episode, I think this show has a lot of potential and I actually really enjoyed the first episode. I have the first episode done but it’ll probably take me about a week or a week and half to get these eps up. So you can expect a new ep weekly (or roughly weekly lol) So have this post bookmarked as the first episode should be up and ready by tonight! So I have provided two types of links, the first is a 4shared link and the second is a dailymotion one. The 4shared link has the subs embedded in the video already but the dailymotion one requires you to TURN ON ENG SUBS!
